This unit plays bluetooth music and call audio using the external CD changer port to communicate with your factory radio. The unit also has a USB port to play music off of a memory stick, a USB adapter for iPhones is also available. This unit also comes with a microphone for phone calls. (a factory fit microphone is also available for purchase below.)
Features
Bluetooth phone calls.
Picks up phone calls by pressing next song on radio and/or steering wheel controls.
Hangs up phone calls/reject calls by pressing previous song button.
Wireless bluetooth music with song up and down controls from radio and/or steering wheel.
Music off of USB sticks with folder browsing. USB stick must be formatted to FAT32 and no larger than 64GB.
The bluetooth connection pin is 8888, we mention this here because it is hard to find in the owners manual.

Connects at the External CD changer location or replaces the factory installed iPod dock.ย Because if the difficulty of running the microphone if your connection is in the trunk it is recommended you use the behind the radio version unless you are not planning on using this unit for calls.

CC 2008-2009 – Car must have iPod dock in the glove box.ย If the car has an MDI connection use the GBL3VW1 behind the radio.

Works great and extremely easy to install. The tutorial videos on YouTube also helped for troubleshooting. Works a dream and is great that I can listen to Spotify and call over the car stereo.
Not sure why VW opted for only apple connecter in the first place. Great to have something that is more personal and adaptable.

This is an excellent product! I love that now I don’t have to worry about ugly aux cables hanging out. Makes my rabbit look nice and clean. I love that I can also control the music from the radio. If you want Bluetooth in your car this is the way to go!

Easy installation using factory wiring for trunk mount CD player in 2005 Golf. The USB adapter is picky about which USB stick is used, but once I tried a couple, it works great and sounds great. Really nice to be able to use the factory radio to listen to music on USB stick. Christian was super patient and helpful sorting it out. Highly recommended.

What a great product for those that want to retain their factory stereo but use their iPhone for music. Simple installation. Just one note, that I don’t remember seeing in the instructions, be patient, it takes the factory system about a minute to read the first time. After that, hands down the best device I have installed.

It really is super simple to install… as long as the body shop guy didn’t bury the CD changer cable under the interior trim… and you read the instructions to find the Pairing Code (8888)… and you remember to plug the amp back in because you took it apart to find the plug.
I didn’t really buy it for the handsfree phone, but… that works rather well too.
Nice upgrade to a 16 year old car.

Flawless Bluetooth integration. If you are looking to retain the OEM head unitโs classic look and to add some modern technology look no further. The CD changer is one plug in the trunk of my golf so this was literally start to finish a 5 minute ordeal. My stereo sounds amazing and retains its functionality as you can skip through songs on the unit as well. Great purchase.
