Make sure to read the entire page. We do things better not easier so there is much to explain.
This is the harness that is used for cars that have fiber optic audio between the radio and factory amplifier.
This is the harness that is used for cars that DO NOT have fiber optic audio between the radio and factory amplifier. This is also the harness you use if you are replacing the factory amplifiers with aftermarket amplifiers
If your car has radio controls on the steering wheel you will need to add this steering wheel control programmer. The harnesses above have the electronics built in but since the wire is radio specific it is sold separately.
This part connects to the end of the main SRWH wiring harness above and converts it into a plug that connects directly into the back of your new radio. Check the google sheet on the main page of the product below for applications.
PCM 2.1 (Navigation Screen) cars will almost always have a fiber optic amplifier. There are very rare early models that have a PCM but not fiber optic amplifier audio. In the hundred or so cars I’ve worked on and hundreds that I’ve sold parts to I’ve only seen it 3 times. CDR-24 cars usually only have fiber if the car has Bose. Some Boxster and Cayman cars may have PCM and no Fiber. Even though the audio system is the same I do not see too many of them because until now we never added them to the site. Put your vin number into the order comments and we can verify if your car has a fiber optic amplifier.
The small box on the main harnesses is a CAN-BUS data reader. It reads for switched 12V, illumination, parking brake, reverse signal and Vehicle Speed Sense. I have seen some 911 not provide VSS and I have seen a few Boxster models not provide reverse. If they car does not provide it on the CAN-BUS data wires my box cannot provide it.
The large Box with knobs is our HILO box. The box adjusts the audio levels going into the the factory amplifier. Since different radios have different outputs and many of the numbers are not accurate this is important. The box has four knobs only the front onew will l be used during installation. And yes it will keep all your speakers just not the fader. No adapter on this planet keeps your fader.
This antenna adapter converts the European style antenna connection into the universal style antenna connector used by most aftermarket radios.
Your car has a factory location for the microphone used with the factory phone. It is in the steering Colum. This microphone gives you a clean look as well as good sound with most aftermarket radios. (see installation video below)
If your car had a factory GPS antenna you can reuse the factory antenna, if your radio requires a GPS antenna. The antenna is located on the passengers side under the plastic cowl under the windshield wipers. You will need 2 parts. First the wire is an extension made specifically for your car to get from the antenna to the radio cavity. Then you will need a 2nd cable to convert that end into the end needed for your new radio.
Â
This is a rare option but I’ve seen it a few times. If your car is equipped with factory Satellite radio we make a wire that allows you to reuse your factory antenna. We have not made a satellite antenna retention cable cable specific for this car so were going to recommend you use the one we made for the Audi R8. If you do use this please let us know how much sticks our of the dash. We have another one that is 78″ but we think its too short.
All SiriusXM ready radios require this external tuner in order to listen to SirusXM.
This camera is designed to replace your factory license plate lights with aftermarket LED lights that hold a camera. Out kit also includes a 2nd light without a camera so that your lights actually match.
