Radio Mounting

Radio Mounting kit

This part fills in any voids left by the plastic surrounding your factory radio and secures it in place. In addition to being seamless, our kit is available in three colors. High gloss black, matte black, and black.

Radio Wiring

Technical info about wiring harnesses

PCM 2.1 (Navigation Screen) cars will almost always have a fiber optic amplifier.  There are very rare early models that have a PCM but not fiber optic amplifier audio. In the hundred or so cars I’ve worked on and hundreds that I’ve sold parts to I’ve only seen it a handful of times.  CDR-24 cars usually only have fiber if the car has Bose.  Some Boxster and Cayman cars may have PCM and no Fiber. Even though the audio system is the same I do not see too many of them because until now we never added them to the site.  Put your vin number into the order comments and we can verify if your car has a fiber optic amplifier.

The small box on the main harnesses is a CAN-BUS data reader.  It reads for switched 12V, illumination, parking brake, reverse signal and Vehicle Speed Sense.  I have seen some 911 not provide VSS and I have seen a few Boxster models not provide reverse.  If they car does not provide it on the CAN-BUS data wires my box cannot provide it.

The large Box with knobs is our HILO box.  The box adjusts the audio levels going into the the factory amplifier.  Since different radios have different outputs this is important.  The box has four knobs only the front ones will l be used during installation.  And yes it will keep all your speakers just not the fader.  No adapter on this planet keeps your fader.  We also have the fiber harness without the HILO box. This will sound a little less than factory.

Radio wiring Harness for cars with fiber optic amplifier

Use this harness is to install your aftermarket radio in a 2005-2008 Porsche 911, Boxster or Cayman with CDR-24 or PCM 2.1 radio. As long as they have a fiber optic amplifier.

The bigger box converts your new radio’s analog signal into a fiber optic signal that your amplifier can process.

The steering wheel controls interface that allows you to use your factory steering wheel controls with your new radio is built in to the small box. (radio must be capable)

Most of the signals needed for a new radio installation are carried using can bus data. This harness has a translator that reads the can data and translates the data. The following signals are translated into analog signals your new radio can read. Ignition, illumination, parking brake, Vehicle Speed signal and reverse (manual transmission only).

Instead of loose wires this harness has an ISO connector. Not many radios use this connector anymore. We make PNP converters that convert this ISO connector into a radio specific connection. This allows your to install your radio without cutting a single wire.

Plug and Play Converter

The square connector on the main radio wiring harness is connected to this harness. The square is transformed into a connection that fits straight into your brand-new radio. That way, you can avoid cutting any cables while doing the installation.

AM/FM Antenna Adapter

This part transforms your factory radio’s European-style antenna cable into the common one used by the majority of aftermarket radios.

Factory Fit Microphone

Factory Fit Microphone

When you install an aftermarket radio, this microphone is meant to take the place of the original microphone in your steering column. It helps prevent feedback and maintains the factory appearance.

GPS Antenna Adapter

GPS Antenn Adapter

There is an antenna cable that attaches to the factory antenna behind your car’s Navigation unit if the factory radio was GPS equipped. If you want to add a GPS radio or a wireless CarPlay/Android auto radio, you will need to put an antenna on your dashboard or roof. This adapter allows you to use your new radio with the stock GPS antenna mounted on the roof.

GPS Antenn Adapter Extension

Becasue your GPS unit is in the frunk you will also need this extension to reach teh factory antenna.

Sirius XM

SiriusXM Tuner

If your new radio is SiriusXM compatible, it just means that it has a tuner connector. For that connector, this is the tuner.

Sirius XM Antenna Adapter

This is a rare option but I’ve seen it a few times.  If your car is equipped with factory Satellite radio we make a wire that allows you to reuse your factory antenna.  We have not made a satellite antenna retention cable cable specific for this car so were going to recommend you use the one we made for the Audi R8.  If you do use this please let us know how much sticks out of the dash. We have another one that is 78″ but we think its too short.

Reverse Camera

Reverse Camera

This is a rare option but I’veThis camera is designed to replace your factory license plate lights with aftermarket LED lights that hold a camera.  Out kit also includes a 2nd light without a camera so that your lights actually match.

Reverse Camera Power

Our small box sends a reverse signal to tell your radio you are in reverse.  It is not enough to power any camera.  You can either tap into the tail light for power or use this part to boost the power behind the radio.  (not all cars provide reverse on the can bus)
