This is an upgradeable AUX input. You can connect a 3.5 mm wire to play audio from your device. It also has a 9 pin port for upgrades.
Upgrades
Since most manufacturers are deleting the aux port on phones this unit is not recommended to play music from your phone.
BTA-AUX – This is our most popular upgrade. It receives wireless music including navigation prompts from your phone and plays it through your radio.
IPDU-AUX – This is an iPhone only upgrade. It plays music from your iPhone through a USB connection.. Next and previous song and charging are also done through the USB connection.
We also have other options for your car. Please select your car from the drop down below for all the options available.
Addons
Posi-Tap EX150B – This product simplifies connecting the ground cable that is required for installation. See product for instructional video.
Enfig RRK4 – keys required to remove the factory radio.

Worked fine in an old 2005 Jetta. (That’s not in their list because there was a model change half way thru the year, but they gave me the details by email, about which Aux device to buy.) Just attached the grounding wire to a random screw on the metal case of the radio. Seems to work without background static.
