- This harness is made specifically for Mercedes vehicles with MOST fiber optic audio systems.
- The Larger box allows communication to your factory Mercedes Amplifier through the factory fiber optic wires.
- The smaller box allows you to use your factory steering wheel controls with your aftermarket radio. You will need to purchase aย SWCLย (Steering Wheel Control Lead) to activate this feature since some cars do not have steering wheel controls. (see below)
- The smaller box reads the cars can-bus (data) wires. The following wires are transmitted to the factory radio through the can-bus wires. The small box converts the following wires into analog signals that your aftermarket radio can read.
Red– Switched power turns the radio on and off with the key and keeps the radio on until you pull the key out of the cylinder.
Orange– Illumination wire dims radio when you turn on your lights.
Mint Green– Parking brake wire unlocks security features when your parking brake is engaged.
Purple with White Stripe– Backup camera reverse wire tells radio to Initiate back-up camera screen when you are in reverse.
Pink– Vehicle Speed Sense wire tells the radio how fast you are going to improve accuracy especially when you lose GPS or cellular signal. - This harness is designed to connect directly into some radios with an ISO connection.ย ย See the Google Document under the PNP Converter product for a radio list.
Additional Information
- We recommend connecting the RCA cables to the front RCA since the rear RCA do not output phone call audio.
- We recommend using a radio with 5 volt RCA outputs for best sound.ย 4 volt is fine.ย 2 volt will work but the sound will not be as good.
- Works with Command Navigation and Audio 50 radios.
- Works with both Harman Kardon and non Harman Kardon audio systems.
- RCA cables must be connected to the front output of the radio.ย Most radios do not play call audio through the rear channels.

I found Enfig as a way to install a modern audio system into my ’06 M-B E500. The system I settled on was the Pioneer NEX8400 and it works great with the stock amplifier. The only problem was that randomly the connection between the audio deck and amplifier would not work. I would have to toggle the ignition several times to make it work. Enfig was a great help in getting to the root of the problem and sent me several pieces of hardware to help isolate the problem. The second attempt to isolate the issue was the solution. It turned out that the amplifier has to be turned on prior to the audio deck for it to work. This was done by, rather than having the power toggled through the Pioneer unit, to power it through a switched power supply.
Enfig went above and beyond to assist me in this matter and did so without me incurring any additional expense. Customer service at the highest level.

I would recommend watching the youtube video for this install. Also read the comments below the video. Some are useful. The most difficult part is running the antenna wire from the rear of the car. I was installing a backup camera as well so the wires followed the same path. All quality parts from enfig. With apple carplay on my new head unit , my E320 doesn’t seem so old anymore.

I’ve had several high end stereos installed on different cars throughout my years. Iโve been driving BMW and Mercedes since 2007 and never drove them longer than 2 years. I keep my systems classy, not to bounce my car down the street. I prefer a powerful system with clarity at all volumes regardless of Iโm into hip hop or slayer. My local shop in Long Beach was hands down the best place but recently closed. Christian with Enfig is excellent. I know a quality installer almost immediately.
