The connector fits into the back of the radio on the cars below to connect the mute pin when installing the GBL3AU2 or any other device that has the same mute pin.

Was not needed with the 6 cd changer stereo unit. However, the already existing connector had a mute line into which I had to force the new mute wire from the Dension wire loom. Kindof a kludge – but it worked.
