Additional Information

Do I need a single or dual fiber optic?
- Not all cars need a dual fiber to keep cars.
- Unless you have a “low mmi” in an Audi you will always use the single MMI even to keep the CD changer. Low MMI was only available in a few early 2007 Audi Q7in the united states. But it is common outside of the US in low end models.
- BMW, Mercedes and Porsche use the dual fiber to keep the factory CD changer. That sometimes involves running cables throughout the car.
- BMW, Mercedes and Porsche use the single fiber if you do not have a CD changer or intend on bypassing it for an easier installation.

Dension GW52MO1 500S BT Bluetooth Adapter – The Dension Gateway 500S BT Bluetooth adapter is a fantastic product. It is not cheap but worth every penny. I installed it in my 2007 Audi S8 with the help of one of Christian’s video’s and had no problem whatsoever. My suggestion is to watch the video twice or three times if necessary, and follow all the steps carefully, and you’ll be in great shape. If you need additional help, call Enfig, you get someone on the phone right away. Christian and his guy’s are very knowledgeable, courteous and get you up and running in no time.
I highly recommend shopping with Enfig Car Stero because they got great products at a great price but most of all you have lifetime tech support.

Great product, great service – I purchased this Intel with some reluctance for my 2006 Mercedes E-class. I tried not to set my expectations too high but was still hopeful the system would be relatively easy to install and would add the functions of BT telephone and music streaming through the factory COMMAND system. My expectations were met and exceeded. And when I did hit a bit of a speed bump with installation Christian was quickly reached by phone to give me clear guidance out of the woods. As the other review stated, it’s not an inexpensive system but it is one that seems to be of good quality, sound design, and excellent execution. No regrets here.

nice – extremely simple to install. changes the whole ambiance of the MMI 2G system. from outdated no inputs at all to bluetooth streaming, unlimited mp3’s and an AUX IN. Make sure none of the music files are Read Only or it will skip them. delete the .BIN files created in “root” when you add/remove/change the music on the thumb. I didn’t bother removing the Glove Box as there is nothing obstructing access to the back of the radio from the passenger side.

Product works really well & great service – Easy to install in 2006 Carrera S with Bose & PCM 2.1 following the Enfig video. The product itself does everything it promises. Build and sound quality are excellent. The interface is a bit clunky within the bounds of a CD changer front end but it is usable. I had to experiment with the microphone position to get the best results. With PCM 2.1 no Porsche dealer intervention is required as the Dension is automatically recognized and configured on power up. This unit is not cheap but integrates well and gives great results.

Great Sound…finally – This product is great, once installed I was amazed on how well integrated it was on my 2006 Porsche Boxster. Everything is working perfectly including the the bluetooth phone connection. The install is not simple it takes time and patience. Once again Enfig makes it easy – Just purchased a 2007 Audi A6 that didn’t have the AMI module. This time I decided to buy the panel removal tools – that turned out to be a big time saver for this upgrade. I also purchased a pair of Positaps to tap into constant 12 volt and ground. I watched Christian’s Youtube video where he leaves the CD changer in place and instead reaches behind and unclips the power and fiber optic connectors. When I didn’t see power at first I called Enfig and they advised me to check the Positaps which was exactly the problem. This entire job took less than 30 minutes. I now have bluetooth A2DP music streaming with steering wheel control and display of what’s playing on the MMI display. At first it seemed like a lot of money to achieve Bluetooth streaming but since it’s so quick to install in the end its the right solution for the A6

2008 Porsche Cayman Install – Have bought from Enfig before and also had them install a Dension unit in my 2006 Audi A6 Quattro several years ago. Therefore I am not new to Enfig but am a repeat customer. I did this install on my friend’s 2008 Cayman and the install went perfectly. The install video on YouTube was excellent. Only had a little trouble with the headunit locking tabs coming free but finally got it. Unit went in without any drama. This Dension GW52M01 500S BT works perfectly (phone & music) and did not disable our Navigation DVD. My friend’s car did not have the CD changer and the interface to the PCM 2.1 headunit is really good with all buttons (on headunit and steering wheel) working and no programming by Porsche required as was stated in instructions. Regardless, the unit works in all modes (BT, Aux cable or via Apple Lightning cable) and all tags display as should on the PCM 2.1 screen). Totally happy with unit and install procedure. Only unit to buy for german cars to modernize them to Bluetooth.

Dension simply the best! – After extensive research choose this Dension product as it has everything you could ask for an OEM integration USB, auxiliary and Bluetooth music streaming. I have a 2006 BMW 330i with I drive and all info displays on screen when playing music. Great Product – Installed this in a 2007 Q7 with no hassle. Easy to set up and easy to use. The best solution to play music through the car’s audio system and is well worth the price. Have been using it for a few weeks now with no noticeable issues, the MMI has retained full functionality as far as I can tell.
I highly recommend buying the positaps from this site as well, the guide says you need two for this project but buy at least three. I lost part of one behind the dash and was lucky enough to have a spare.
All in all this is a great piece of equipment and is a must have for any Q7 or similar car that didn’t come with a standard aux input.

My Wife’s Audi A6 Avant now has Bluetooth and hands free calling. The Aux and USB options are a nice plus. The installation video was very well done and easy to follow. I was able to install it without a hitch and my wife is very happy to no longer have to connect her phone through a Radio adaptor.
The sound quality is great over Bluetooth. we can not take advantage of the BOSE speakers that are in the car.

Satisfied Sounds – After finding the Enfig site I exchanged a few emails late into the evening with Christian and has very excited to find the exact product I was looking for. I placed the order online late Thursday night. The product shipped late Friday and I was amazed when the the product arrived the next day in Canada 3800 km away. The install went quite smoothly after viewing the online videos. The unit failed initially. After checking for power I realized the Posi-taps were not making contact with the wires. I used my test light to help penetrate the wires and reinstalled the Posi-taps. Success. After a few restarts and repairing with my phone, the units works very well. Dension GW52MO1 500S BT for 997.1 – I bought the GW52Mo1 500S BT for my 997.1 primarily for Bluetooth interaction. It took me 6 hrs from start to finish but I completed it. Disclaimer, I have zero knowledge of stereos and electronics, all I did was follow instructions and rewind the video a lot. Called Christian for help before I bought the unit just to make sure I was buying the right one, he responded to my emails promptly. Works flawlessly – Install was MUCH easier than I expected and unit works perfectly. Wish I had found this years ago. Not being able to stream music from my phone in my 2207 Audi Q7 was a PITA. the process to remove CD player from dash and install the fiber optic connections was SIMPLE! Now I can stream music via Bluetooth, still use the Audi’s factory Bluetooth for the hands free phone (phones can connect to two BTs at a time, and automatically know which bt connection to use for phone and which to use for streaming). Seriously an amazing product!

it works – I wanted some way to play music from my phone in my 2006 Porsche 911. I found the Dension product and installation video by enfing car stereo. After doing some research, I decided to give it a try. Since I am on the west coast, I would be doing the installation myself. I am reasonably handy with tools and electronics so I figured that I would be OK. There was a little hiccup in the delivery of the product, but that was OK. The installation video on YouTube is excellent. I did run into a minor issue with the locking tabs for the PCM, but the video helped me figure it out. I decided to splice into the power for the PCM as opposed to the cigarette lighter. Also, I placed the interface in the utility box underneath the PCM instead of the glove box. The install took several hours, but in the end it seems to be working fine, and I have been happy with the product and installation thus far.

Dension in a 2008 Porsche Cayenne – I’m fairly experienced in installing car stereo systems, but this was my first time splicing into a fiber optic system. The Dension was easy to install and works flawlessly. More importantly, Christian’s technical support was critical in getting the unit to work, after I almost gave up. Somehow I changed the position of one of the DIP switches during installation, and through email, Christian immediately diagnosed the problem. Both the product and Enfig are highly recommended.

Dension Gateway 500 – i have 2005 Porsche Boxster S, My car has the PCM 2.1 DVD navigation unit.There are a few different parts to the installation instructions for different scenarios including no CD changer enabled, enabled but not installed, or CD changer installed. Anyways mine was enabled but not installed so I followed the instructions for that. I connected the fiber optical connect to the car and the other side to the unit as per the instructions. Then I spliced and connected the live and ground wires to a 12V lighter socket to power the unit. All done in about 15 minutes or so after spending a few minutes going over the instructions. After installation, I rebooted the PCM unit (pressing 1,4,8 together) and the device was recognized immediately. This unit has Bluetooth built-in, after pairing with my phone i was able to stream the music and send and receive phone calls and access phone book. Sound quality is very good. This product works great with my Porsche, VERY HAPPY. Thank you Christian 5 Stars

Awesome!!! – Interface was easy to hook up in my 2009 997 Turbo. Took me about 20 minutes to install and everything works like a charm. My only beef is every time I restart the car I have to reselect the blue tooth input, would be nice if it could stay on BT until I change it, other than that, it is awesome! Sounds as good as the factory BT in my 2014 991 Carrera S.

Dension 500S in Porsche Cayenne – This really modernized the stereo in my 2004 Cayenne. The install of the unit was easy, but the instructions were one page and could have been more detailed. Pay attention to the light path diagram in the directions. The unit does not light up if you get that wrong. Putting the loopback connector on the CD changer was hard. It is difficult to get to. Ordered a flexible hex bit extension from Amazon that made getting one hard screw possible. So far the USB and Aux is flawless – reads 8gb of MP3’s fast. Navigation is easy once you do it a few times (watch the video). Bluetooth works great on iPhone 8, but disconnects on my iPhone XS. Can use the aux. on XS for now. Enfig shipped quickly, the firmware was already updated, and they did answer the phone when I called with a question. They didn’t really know my Cayenne so had to figure out the CD changer issues myself. Overall I am happy and would order this again as it is the quickest way to get added (modern) functions on your factory unit

Highly recommended – Great product, not too complicated to install. Is a great addition to my Mercedes. The directions are a little confusing at 1st but if you read carefully and take your time, product is not hard to install. Make sure to research ahead of time if you’ll need an optical loop to bypass the CD changer. I didn’t know I needed one but customer service was great and help me resolve any issues I had very quickly. product and install – I own a 2005 A8 sedan L W12 and I purchased online from Enfig the Dension GW500, received my package, I followed the instruction on the youtube video made by Enfig and without being a techy guy it took me in all 15 to 20 minutes and surprise, I shut all doors put the volume as high as I could and put my favorite song, CRAZYYYY, the sound system of this car, it is insane and finally i hear the song of my phone using bluetooth!!!! Thank you Enfig for bringing this product, the install video and all, you just took a way years of frustration. Now aside from the excitement the set up is really easy, my only pain was to remove the CD charger, the rest is history. The wiring is pretty easy just need to focus 2 minutes make sure you don’t inverse anything, the interface from MMI is pretty simple and basic and in any way you’ll use your phone display. Make sure you buy the little accessories recommended for this job, which I did, but if wouldn’t have it would have been a bit more tedious. THANK

Great technical selection and customer supprt – I purchased a Dension unit for my Porsche Cayenne so that I could listen to Bluetooth through the Porsche PCM unit. I needed it quickly and they were able to process my order the same day. Also had some technical questions in which they were able to address in both an email and existing Youtube videos.

Amazing! – I bought yet another 2005 Audi A6 3.2 C6. The Bluetooth wouldn’t work & the dealer would charge a fortune to fix. Exceeded my expectations – If not for ChIristian and Enfig, I would not have perfect, cost effective radio integration upgrades for my 14 year old Audi. Enfig’s installation videos sealed the deal. I installed a Dension 500 myself, and when I needed a little help, Christian answered the phone IMMEDIATELY and gave me the answers I needed. Enfig’s products and support updated my 2008 Audi A6 4.2 with current connectivity that anyone expects of their car today. I can either stream Bluetooth–or connect via USB–to my Apple Music library, podcasts, Navigation audio instructions, etc., and experience perfect audio fidelity through my factory installed, 13-speaker, Bose sound system! The Dension 500 also charges my phone when using the USB portal on the external box. I highly recommend Enfig for any radio integration upgrade in an older German vehicle. Added BlueTooth to my 2008 Audi A6 – Was super excited to add BlueTooth to my wife’s 2008 A6 Audi. Per Enfig recommendation installed a Denison Gateway 500S BT. The car has a CD changer, and the Bluetooth shows up as CD7. Works great via the MMI and sounds good too! Still using the car’s CD and phone connection, and adds Bluetooth. Much cheaper than a new car!

Success in 2008 997 turbo – I was successful with my own installation of Dension GW52M01 in my newly acquired 2008 997 with a Bose system. The videos were key to my success, as I would have been nervous popping out panels and identifying the right screws. I spent most of my Saturday doing this, with a couple trips to Ace to get Torx tools and the right size bolts for mounting the unit. The sound quality is excellent. I haven’t run the bluetooth yet, but plugging in is good for now.

Great product, works perfectly. – I’ve gotten 2 of these, one for my 2006 650i and one for my 2006 m6, and both turned out great. Unfortunately, the one for my m6 doesn’t keep playing music after the engine turns off, but everything else works great and it does on my 650i. Also, another weird thing, my phone stays connected to it after the car is off but wont use the speakers so if i sit in my car and go on my phone, I have to disconnect the bluetooth each time. All in all, great product and I highly appreciate the affordability of this product.
