Use this harness is to install your aftermarket radio in a 2005-2008 Porsche 911, Boxster or Cayman with CDR-24 or PCM 2.1 radio. As long as they have a fiber optic amplifier.
The bigger box converts your new radio’s analog signal into a fiber optic signal that your amplifier can process.
The steering wheel controls interface that allows you to use your factory steering wheel controls with your new radio is built in to the small box. (radio must be capable)
Most of the signals needed for a new radio installation are carried using can bus data. This harness has a translator that reads the can data and translates the data. The following signals are translated into analog signals your new radio can read. Ignition, illumination, parking brake, Vehicle Speed signal and reverse (manual transmission only).
Instead of loose wires this harness has an ISO connector. Not many radios use this connector anymore. We make PNP converters that convert this ISO connector into a radio specific connection. This allows your to install your radio without cutting a single wire.

Man…. i have changed a few head units on cars before and i knew almost immediately i had gone into deep water when i open up my 997 to swap the antiquated PCM and saw the fiber optic cables. Crutchfield did not prepare me for this at all and i realized quickly my car was going to be out of action for a while. Luckily i found Enfig and Christian on youtube and the instructional video showed how he worked through and had the solution to the problem. I ordered this harness in the next 5 min. The next day Christian personally called me to talk about lead times and what head unit i was upgrading to so he could ensure the wiring would match. I got the loom later in the week and installation worked first time, no go backs, i was floored. Power, speakers, levels, steering wheel controls… everything worked off the bat. 110% recommend spending the money. Trying to do this yourself will just cause you headache. Enfig and Christian, thanks a ton.!
