I installed a Kenwood head unit on my 2016 Toyota 4Runner, the unit is great but the bluetooth microphone that came with the unit is awful. I tried putting the mic on many different locations but the sound was always terrible so I started looking online for options. I came across a Toyota Tacoma forum and someone mentioned Enfigcarstereo and their custom mics. I contacted Enfig and talked to Christian about my 4Runner mic and how I wanted to use the OEM location, he ordered a 4Runner overhead panel and made a custom mic that fit the OEM location perfectly and the sound quality is better than the oem mic. Very pleased with their service and product, highly recommend this mic for 4Runner or Tacoma.

I bought this to install with an aftermarket Kenwood receiver in a 2018 Toyota Tacoma. I didn’t like the call quality on the aftermarket mic, so after talking with Christian, the mic sounded like a good option for installing in the OEM mic location (you can’t use the OEM mic with aftermarket head units). Sure enough, it works and sounds great! Call quality is better than the OEM mic, and the Enfig mic fits perfectly in the OEM location in the overhead console. Great mic at a great price!

It plugged right into the back of my aftermarket head unit and no complaints of voice quality when talking on the phone via Bluetooth. This was a great addition to the head unit upgrade versus using the Sony mic that came with the head unit. Keeps the upgrade clean and OEM looking!

I found out about the plug and ply mic for a Tacoma while I was installing stereo equipment. I am very happy with it. The hardest part (as always) is routing the cable from the mic to the head unit but that wasn’t terribly difficult. In fact, the only hard part was fishing the mic over from the A pillar with a long piece of aluminum TIG welding rod. I would post a photo but there is nothing to see because it goes in the OEM mic location in the overhead console.

Unfortunately the mic did not work with my stereo. I do not believe this was an issue with the mic or compatibility with the radio. I think it was due to as issue with my specific radio/iPhone as I have had the same issue with other microphones. I am leaving 5 stars however because Enfig seemed legitimately interested in helping with the issue and eventually issued me a refund when I couldn’t get it to work.

I installed the microphone in a 2013 4Runner Limited and it fit perfectly. Siri works fine and I am able to have telephone conversations. Others have said that they can here me okay. I have not been the receiver of a call from my car yet, so I cannot personally provide more of a critique on sound quality, but I am very happy with it so far. My Pioneer 4400NEX receiver does not have a microphone level adjustment; if yours does all the better. I did not want to have a mic clipped to the visor if I could avoid it, and didn’t want to have to rig up some special wiring to use the existing mic (which has an amp integrated into it). My only issue is that having a 90-degree plug on the end of the mic cable makes it needlessly hard to run/fish the wire to the head-end. Much better to use a straight connector, then offer 90 adaptors if you need it, which my radio didn’t. All-in-all a great product, so glad I found out about it on a 4Runner forum.

I recently installed a Kenwood Excelon DMX957XR in my 2015 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium. It was during the install that I realized that the OEM microphone could not be used in place of the Kenwood microphone. I immediately started to look for a solution om various social media boards and forums… enter the ENFIG-MIC-TOY1!!! I received this microphone and installed it with relative ease. The fitment was perfect. I simply unplugged the factory microphone because I do not have SOS (no blinking red LED to worry with) and routed the new microphone. Immediately after routing the wire I called my friends and family and they were impressed by the quality of my voice as well as my passenger, detected no ringing or echoing, and no background noise! It was a little more expensive than I would like, but retaining the factory OEM microphone location was well worth it in my opinion. Nobody, but those reading this review, will ever suspect a 3rd party mic has been installed! Finally, shipping was very quick considering that I ordered during the Christmas 2022 holiday! This Mic worked out great. I had replaced my OEM radio and wanted a cleaner look when replacing the Bluetooth mic. I saw a YouTube video of someone using your product which also provided a โhow toโ for the install. The install was quick and easy. I tested before installation and was very impressed. However when installing in my 2014 4Runner Trail Premium (crawl control and sun roof) the 90 degree connector made installation difficult. Maybe consider a straight connector or a male/ female connector near the mic in case someone needs to remove the overhead console in the future. I cut the cable for my install. ๐

Thanks for the feedback. We have thought of offering a version with the connector but they would add to the price of the part. Our mic pops out just like the factory one you removed from the overhead console. If you leave 2 feet of slack up top it should never be a problem. And a straight connector behind the radio sticks out and risk being pushed into the radio and damaging the radiso internals while pushing the radio into the dash. This is why all the major brands use right angle connectors.

I tried four different mics before I found Enfig (plus the wiring hacks to attempt to use the factory mic). They were so bad, bluetooth calls were not useable–I was about to go back to my stock stereo. Enfig completely fixed my problems and the bluetooth calls are actually better than they ever were before. If you’re using a Sony car stereo – definitely test different settings for mic gain and sound modes – get a friend to help on the other end of a call while driving, then go to options while you’re on the call.

I installed this microphone in my 2016 4Runner Trail premium with a CarTrimHome T10 V2 head unit. The microphone was definitely a big upgrade from the onboard microphone that my T10 came with, however I donโt think itโs as good as the OEM microphone. People say they can hear me pretty clearly but I sound far away when speaking to them. For $40 you get a simple mic in a tiny 3D printed housing. If the microphone was OEM quality or better, it wouldnโt bother me much. However, in my instance, this unfortunately wasnโt the case.
Overall, Iโm not upset about my purchase. I think $40 is a bit steep for what it is but as a small business owner myself, I understand that Enfig has to charge more than the big companies to stay afloat. The mic fit perfectly and was a big improvement over my previous aftermarket microphone, just not as good as my OEM microphone.

The part fit good and replaced OEM mic, but did not see improvement on my Dasaita Head Unit for the mic. I have played around with all the configurations but it is about as good as it was prior to the new part installed. Not sure would blame this on Enfig and this part though. But definitely disappointed because I hoped this would work. Even bought the Dasaita part to hook to this so everything was plug in play.

It sounds to me that there might be a problem with your radio. If both my mic and the mic that was included with the radio did not provide the desired result I don’t think there is anything wrong with my mic. I would contact the radio manufacturer for warranty and or support or get a better radio.
